Privacy Policy.

1. What this covers

This policy describes how AI Filmmaker Index (operated by NLB Merch LLC) collects, uses, and shares information when you use aifilmmakerindex.com.

2. What we collect

Account information: your email address and, if you sign in with Google or X, the basic profile information those providers share (name, email, avatar). We never see your passwords for those services.

Listing information: everything you submit for your public profile — name, type, location, bio, tagline, categories, links, and video URLs. This is public by design once approved.

Messages: when you contact a Filmmaker or submit a brief through our forms, we store the message and your contact details so the recipient can respond.

Technical data: standard server logs and basic analytics (pages visited, approximate region, device type) via our hosting providers.

Profile view data: when a listing page is viewed we record the visit so we can show the listing owner how their page is performing. Pro listings see visit counts and dates. We do not identify individual visitors by name to listing owners, and we do not build advertising profiles from this data.

3. How we use it

To operate the directory: displaying approved profiles publicly, routing messages, reviewing submissions, and providing account features. To communicate with you about your account or listing. To protect the Service from spam and abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California and other state privacy laws.

4. Who processes it

We use trusted service providers to run the Service: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Cloudflare (domain and email routing), and — if you choose them for sign-in — Google or X as authentication providers. Payments are processed by Stripe, which collects your billing details directly; we never see or store card numbers. Each provider processes data under their own privacy terms.

5. What is public

Approved listings are public: anyone can view them, and search engines index them. Everything you put in your listing — name, tagline, bio, location, links, and videos — is intended to be seen.

Your sign-in email is never shown publicly. Your contact email is hidden by default and reached only through our contact form. If you subscribe to Pro, the plan includes the option to display your contact email directly on your listing so clients can skip the form; that display is under your control and you can turn it off at any time from your dashboard.

Messages you send through the Service are shared with the recipient you chose, along with the name and email you entered.

6. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — email legal@aifilmmakerindex.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or degrade your listing for exercising these rights.

If you are in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, those states also give you the right to know what we collect and why, to obtain a portable copy, to correct inaccuracies, to delete, and to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of — but the request channel above is open regardless, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals as opt-out requests.

If you are in the EEA or UK, our legal bases are contract (operating your listing and account), legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, and basic analytics), and consent where required. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email legal@aifilmmakerindex.com and we will delete it.

8. Retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account or listing is active. To delete your account, listing, or any message data, email legal@aifilmmakerindex.com and we will remove it within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.

9. Cookies and local storage

We do not run advertising trackers, we do not use analytics that follow you across sites, and there is no consent banner because there is nothing here that requires consent. Everything we store on your device is needed to sign you in, keep the site up, or stop fraud. For completeness, here is the full list.

Sign-in session (browser local storage, set by us via Supabase): keeps you signed in so you do not re-enter your email on every page. Cleared when you sign out.

Cloudflare (__cf_bm, _cfuvid, cf_clearance, __cflb): bot detection, rate limiting, and routing to the right server. Cloudflare does not use these to track you from site to site. Minutes to hours.

Stripe (__stripe_sid, __stripe_mid): loaded only on checkout, never while you browse the directory. Stripe uses them to detect payment fraud. Session and one year respectively.

You can clear all of this at any time from your browser settings. Clearing it signs you out; nothing else breaks.

10. Do Not Track, and selling

We do not sell or share your personal information, and we never have. There is nothing to opt out of. If you would still like that on the record for your own state, write to legal@aifilmmakerindex.com and we will confirm it in writing — that address is also the channel for a Nevada opt-out-of-sale request.

Some browsers send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. We honor both as an instruction not to sell or share your personal information. Since we do not do either in the first place, the signal changes nothing about how we treat you — you are already covered.

No other party collects information about your activity across other websites through this site. We run no advertising networks and no cross-site analytics.

11. Who is responsible

AI Filmmaker Index is operated by NLB Merch LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, which is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Reach the controller at legal@aifilmmakerindex.com.

12. Changes; contact
